Subject: [WSFA] Dinner with LC Bookfest participants

As many of you are aware, a motion was passed on the Friday WSFA meeting to
invite the participants of the Science FIction and Fantasy pavilion
http://www.loc.gov/bookfest/04/pavilions/fantasy/index.html to dinner on
Sat., Oct. 9. The motion was that the event would be held at the Gillilands.

I have a suggestion from the Fast Forward crew that the event be held at
the Boulevard Wood Grill, 2901 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA, which is 2
blocks from the Clarendon Metro station. The advantages are that the
authors can walk to there from the studio, no need for rides to and from
the Gillilands and no one has to clean up before or after the event. This
restaurant even has a room we could ask about having the event in, it that
seems reasonable. The cuisine is American and has vegetarian
options. Prices seem to be between $15 and $30 for the entrees.

Since we will not have a lot of time after the next meeting (Oct. 1) and
the bookfest, I hoped this could be discussed on the list and see if this
idea works.

I am going to sent out the invitations this weekend and will only state
that WSFA offers the writers a dinner at 7:00pm on Oct. 9. We can work out
details later.
