I've done the latter, but had no need to do the former, since every
WSFA member has always been able to post to the list whether they're
a subscriber or not, so your message already automatically went to
the list.

I also updated our calendar of upcoming events,
http://www.wsfa.org/calendar.htm

Please note that while Neal Stephenson definitely won't be at the
dinner, he will be doing a signing at a bookstore the previous night.

Also please note that there will be more delays on the Red Line
this weekend, as Metro continues to work on the new station that is
scheduled to open next month. Please allow plenty of extra time if
you take Metro to the dinner, to the Bookfest, or to any other event.

At the meeting Colleen said that Patricia Wrede, Lois McMaster Bujold,
and Connie Willis have tentatively said "yes," Neal Stephenson, Fred
Pohl, and Ben Bova are definite "no"s, and Neil Gaiman and Catherine
Asaro are definite "maybe"s. I hope she'll soon have the final list
of authors who will be at the dinner, which is just four days away.

Speaking of upcoming events, LASFS is celebrating their 70th (!)
anniversary later this month. I'll add details to our calendar if any
WSFAn will be in LA near the end of the month. (It makes WSFA, at a
mere 57, sound young.)
