I had read one of Nick Pollotta's books before the
convention and enjoyed meeting him at the convention.
As Scott says (in a previous message), he was very
entertaining.

Eventually, I plan to write up (in more detail on my
blog) my experiences at the convention, but just in
case anyone is interested the panels/events I attended
were the following:

Ask Ted White Anything (very fascinating and
interesting)
Interesting Math (not as interesting as I hoped)
WSFA Meeting
GoH Reading (He read the first two chapters of his new
book and I plan to get it later)
Strong Women in SF
Kaffeeklatsche with Nick Pollotta
Kaffeeklatsche with Catherine Asaro
GoH Speech
NASA Panel
Art GoH speech/demo (extremely interesting and
inspired me to buy one of his pieces right afterwards)
Fast Forward Panel (I plan to check out the show's
website)

I went to the Art Show, Dealers Room and Con Suite
quite a few times (and out to dinner with the
Scheiners which was quite fun) and found it quite
impressive even though it was small.

I don't know if the Kaffeeklatsches are unique to
Disclave/Capclave, but perhaps more about could be
advertised in the future. They are a unique
experience to relax and talk with a writer or other
guest in a pleasant atmosphere. I've enjoyed them in
years past and this year the ones I attended were
another highlight.

I was unable to attend on Sunday (and to tell the
truth only the I Saw It Happen! panel looked to be of
much interest), but I had quite a pleasant time on
Friday and Saturday.
