Personally, I thought the con went pretty smoothly. I
liked the fact that we had an art show and a film
track. I thought they were ncie additions. Would I
like to have con attendence go up rather than down -
sure. Hopefully, if we can settle on a weekend and a
hotel for the next couple years, the con memberhsip
slide will stop. Also, we probably need to work on
more advance publicity, but that's something the whole
club needs to do, rather than merely complain
afterwards. Perhaps at the next WSFA meeting under
new business we could have a brainstorming session on
ways to publicize the 2005 and 2006 cons.

As for the booklet, I don't have a problem with
courier, I actually like the look. We're not a
professionally run con. Given that we do not use an
outside service to put together our program book, I
tohught it looked good. My recollection is that in
past years we have not had stories in the con program
and I thought it was a nice edition.

As others have already pointed out, but as a lawyer I
can't resist getting my 2 cents in, copyright notice
is not required. Not putting the notice in does not
void the copyright. Perhaps Ted was thinking about the
1909 Copyright Act, where this was an issue.

Since the GOH did show up, gave an amusing GOH speech
and was perfectly charming when hanging out and
talking with folks throughout the con, I do not know
why Ted felt the need to badmouth the GOH, given that
none of the problems Ted described ocurred at
Capclave.

I think we would all like to see Capclave grow and
thrive and have more program participants and more
parties in the evenings, but these are all things that
require more people than just the concom to do them.

So I suggest that everyone who was unhappy with this
year's con or any previous year's Capclave speak to
Mike Walsh about joining his concomm.
