My version of PageMaker (6.5) saved files as a file type called 'pagemaker publication' -- the printer informed me that no such thing existed, and they needed it in pdf or some other file type that I don't remember (possibly postscript). I went home and found that 6.5 had no other saving options, and it wasn't until I eventually took it to Kinko's that I was able to get a printout (Murphy's Law ensured that my own printer wasn't working). Possibly things are better with new versions of PM. Another printer said they could open the file but couldn't print it properly, something to do with the images. -- Jim Kling science writer Rockville, MD http://nasw.org/users/jkling
