Since the gift giving season will soon be upon us, I'd
welcome any usggestions on suitable SF and Fantasy
books to give a 9 year old girl who reads above grade
level and a 7 year old boy.

My mom thinks Allie has already read A Wrinkle in
Time, so I'm leaning towards Susan Cooper's Dark is
Rising series, assuming she hasn't read that already
(her parents are not into SF/F), however, it would be
nice to be able to give her books where the main
character is a girl. I don't think she's quite old
enough yet for Sorcery and Cecilia or the Diane Duane
Wizard books. As for Hugh, I'm completely stumped.
He liked Wolves in the Walls last year, so i'm
thinking maybe The Day I Swapped my Dad for Two
Goldfish.
