I think Elspeth raised a valid point.  It has nothing to do with
politics -- I think we cover a broad spectrum -- and everything to do with
how we interact with each other.

I've been a Democrat since I was a kid and old enough to follow the news.
One of my best friends when I lived in NYC in the '60s was a
Nixon-Republican who was pro-Vietnam.   We co-chaired a Worldcon together
and wrote two books together.  Politics never was a problem with us; we
liked each other *as human beings* too well.

Elspeth feels insulted and mistreated by someone she thought was her
friend.  It's not his politics, it's his behavior toward those who don't
share his views.  One hopes Lee takes this to heart.
