The republication of Edward Whittemore I did in 2002 is having a payoff
for the Whittemore Estate.

Just received Russian and Dutch editions of Sinai Tapestry from the US
agent. So, even tho the OEB editions may not have broken into the NY
Times Bestseller list, they have caused the Whittemore Word to be
spread.

Whittemore spend a decade with the CIA with a "non official cover"
(see: http://slate.msn.com/id/2089062/ for a definition of that) in the
Middle East and Asia. Details about him and the Jerusalem Quartet may
be found here:

"Edward Whittemore was one of the great masters of magic realism. The
fact that his work did not bring him renown in his lifetime is a shame
and a travesty. He was truly one of the few writers I've ever
encountered who through his stories, taught you how to see the world
with different eyes, a different heart, and best of all, made your soul
grow. Although he is gone, it is high time the world gave him his due.
Tom Robbins? John Irving? Even God Vonnegut - forget 'em - read
Whittemore" - - Jonathan Carroll
