1953.  Also known as "Proxyclave".  I have the sign-in sheet.  You're
not on it (I think you joined the club about a year and a half later),
nor were any other current WSFAns.  Dick Eney was there by proxy.

One of the proxy attendees was "Adlai Stevenson".  I assume someone
wrote that in as a prank.  (He was the losing presidential candidate
the previous year.)
