SUSANNA CLARKE, AUTHOR OF THE NOVEL JONATHAN STRANGE & MR NORRELL,
INTERVIEWED ON NOVEMBER EPISODE OF FAST FORWARD: CONTEMPORARY SF.

Author Susanna Clarke is featured on this month's episode of Fast
Forward: Contemporary Science Fiction. Clarke talks about her
critically acclaimed debut novel, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, and
the ten year process of researching and writing the book.

In conversation with host Tom Schaad, Clarke also discusses how her
characters reflect aspects of the real world. According to Clarke, "I
think most writers have a little bit of Mr. Norrell in them, because
we like being alone in rooms full of books, and we like being left to
get on with our work. I think you need a bit of Mr. Norrell in you
if you're going to be a writer." (You can find more information on
Susanna Clarke and her novel at the website www.jonathanstrange.com.)

The November episode of Fast Forward also features Colleen Cahill's
review of the Wheatland Press anthology Polyphony, Volume 1.

In addition, Marianne Petrino reviews the anime series Comic Party.
