One of my fellow small press publishers has forwarded this editorial
snipped from the latest issue of Locus:

"The non-professional small press has always served important functions
in SF, doing books the large presses won't do--especially collections,
non-fiction work of limited interest, and fine limited editions. Now
something new has been added: keeping important books in print. Old
Earth Books has published new hardcover editions of four award-winning
SF novels that are out of print. These four books -- A Mirror for
Observers and Davy by Edgar Pangborn, and City and Way Station by
Clifford Simak -- should never be out of print. They're cornerstone
books in the field. In Britain there is a classic series that keeps
important books in print--why not here? Meanwhile, please support Old
Earth Books."

Wow.
