I think it's great that Time picked as the novel of the year a genre
novel written by someone who does not have an Atwood-like disdain for
such.

As for the head scratching comments, as it were, that's pretty much how
I've felt when Author X is aclaimed as the best thing sinced sliced
bread and having tried reading the aclaimed work end up sratching my
head wondering, "What the....?".
