Ernest has put together a fantastic review site that has become my default whenever I want to know what new publications are out. I'm so bogged down reading small press releases that I fall behind on what's out in the mainstream and SFRevu has been a great resource for me to keep up with what's been recently released. As to Nth Degree... I've been told many many times now that our convention reviews have been very helpful to people that can only attend one or two cons a year and would like to know more about what each con offers. Also we've been very fortunate to be able to run fiction from new authors like Michail Velichansky and Robert Waters who (in my humble opinion) are in the very early stages of establishing themselves in the field. We're also helping to give exposure to some majorly talented artists as well. We had a cover from Frank Wu (prior to his Hugo win) and have recently been running several pieces from SC Watson, who - although you've likely never heard of - I think has what it takes to make a big splash in the field. Another feature that people have frequently complimented us on is our interview column that features prominent members of fandom like the Lynches, Craig Enslin (artist), Erwin Strauss (also pre-award), and Alexis Gilliland. As we enter our fourth year of publication we feel like we're already becoming a staple of the convention experience. And frankly, Locus (despite having a circulation under 10,000) is an industry publication. They are the SF equivalent of Wizard magazine or Comic Buyers Guide, and have won their fair share already. Of course I don;t want to take anything away from Interzone, New York Review, or any of the other great semiprozines out there. Thanks for asking! Michael D.
