Sure...what's a "significant figure"? Note that sending flowers was
something I suggested passing the hat for, not disbursing WSFA funds.

I'm kind of appalled that I only got one taker on the suggestion though. I
hope nobody is pleading poverty to me...a freelance writer with an
application in at Kinkos.

There's been a fair bit of discussion about sending flowers or something in
honor of a WSFA founder, and I agree that it would be nice to make a
gesture. However, I think that we should do something in honor of a more
recent WSFAn, a founder of BSFS, and someone whom many of us knew and cared
for, as well as knowing and caring for his family. Besides being a writer
Jack was a long-time fan and he and Eva have both been active in working on
local conventions.

I would like to suggest that making a significant contribution to the SFWA
Emergency Medical Fund would be an appropriate gesture for WSFA.
