Since it seems that no one is willing to say more than generalities I'll
suggest either $100 or $500 from WSFA to the SFWA medical fund in honor of
Jack Chalker.  And that while such action can't be taken without approval
by the club it should be done by the end of the month in which Jack died,
which means being voted up or down at the WSFA meeting this coming Friday.

I'm not going to be able to be there but if someone wants my argument in
favor of us giving either amount or in favor of the SFWA fund, well, folks
have my cell phone number.  More usefully, though, people now have a choice
of two numbers to argue between and not just a charity but also a deadline
to argue against. <g>
