The only Card I've read were the first two or three volumes of the
Alvin Maker series, which were an interesting alternative history.  I
must be one of a handful of people who have not read Enders Game or the
equels.

As for the Mormon aspect of OSC, I will note that one of the Capclave
GoHs has been declared a heretic by the Mormons:
