It is providing a free, web-based location where useful files are already being maintained, accessible to any member, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is providing a central calendar, accessible to any member, where to-do items are starting to appear. It provides a mailing list service. Individual members can specifiy their mail preferences, including plain text. It is currently open to anyone who wants to join, with or without invitation, though the invitations make it more convenient for people with graphical web browsers. I am cheerfully willing to assist anyone who finds the interface confusing or difficult. There may be occasional items we would not want broadcast to the world. Those are best kept off the internet altogether, or at least limited to individual emails, as opposed to anybody's listserve. The thing is done. The year is 2005. The technology is standard. There is no point in wasting time to do it over. Let's move on. Barry
