The Yahoo group also eliminates a problem I have:
I like to occassionally check up on things and print flyers and the like. From work. My work is set to HTML email. It's corporate standard. I have nothing to do with it.
I've been using yahoo groups since before it was yahoo groups. Never had a single issue. It's got files. Chat. Email, archives and the like, and is accessable.
And on a realistic and terms of service basis: If yahoo wants to claim ownership of my intellectual property, when I write an email such as:
"I updated the Capclave LJ with the additional guests".
Well than Yahoo can have it.
This is not something where we need to worry, and quite honestly, I'll take the free service. It's far easier than dealing with some work around. For the services of the Capclave list and file exchanging? Some times selling out to corporate america is the way to go.
