Well, "all" is prety darn wide. AFAIK, Boskone does a bit better than break even, of course NESFA has a publishing empire to support club activities. Philly has been suffering due to folks not wanting to go to Center City; parking is not cheap, thought the hotel is nicely priced. & for some December is not a good time. Can't keep everyone happy. Balticon is in the black, but only with much effort. > >There were rumors that Philcon will be moving back to November. PSFS is looking at everything: dates & location. Nothing is settled, nothing is signed. Makes it hard to ask someone to be G/o/H/ Principal Speaker. (http://www.philcon.org/2005/ reveals nothing.) >Would that make people more likely to attend? The cost of parking in Center City has been an issue with many folks. Between dealers, artists, and costumers, that's a fair number of vehicles. As annoying as the Adams Mark was, it was an easy hotel for moving "stuff" in & out of. mjw
