Or, as was the Renaissance practice -- and the Inquisition had lots more
drastic sanctions at its command than a modern nosy-parker -- use a pen
name or something else to create "plausible deniability".  I know I got
away with writing some fairly candid stuff when I was assigned to Viet Nam
and then Ethiopia because I used a pen name.
