Both were written by "e.e. "doc" smith". The Skylark series had 4 books I
think, and the Lensman series was 5 if my memory at this hour is still
working. Mike Walsh can confirm or deny, as he's recently re-published
them. Mike?
Both are pure "space opera", and were a lot of fun to read 30 years or so
ago. I think Mr. Smith got paid by the adjective.
I also wonder why we don't get more "green aliens" in the costume contests
of fandom. Ok, I don't really wonder, I was just saying that... ;-)
