Bester - when he nails it - is incredibly good. Tho there are two
collections of his short fiction in print, better to track down these:

The Light Fantastic (Putnam, 1976)
Starlight (Putnam, 1976)
Combined SFBC edition: Star Light, Star Bright

The reason to find these is that Bester has notes to the stories, about
his life, the stories, and the like. Fascinating reading. Also,
there's an autobiographical essay: "-My Affair with Science Fiction".
