Yes, it sounds like a great idea!  If you do that, be prepared for a host
of "Jesus was a time traveling doctor" stories though.  Or at least the
problem of their inadvertently being the stimulus for most miracle-based
religions and thus having to find a way to fix this in the timeline and get
things back the way they were...
