Or... H. L. Mencken to Gordon van Gelder.

And in further odd connections... Gordon's father, Richard van Gelder,
was a noted mammalogist at the American Museum of Natural history.    In
1982 his book Mammals of the National Parks was published by... the
Johns Hopkins University Press.
