Nope, too warm for January: I just came in from the deck, where I'd been reading. And I don't think that they had motorcycles in 700 AD. Other than those it seems to be a rather charming little town. I haven't been able to explore much of it this trip, although we took a walk before dinner last night and will do so again tonight. Last night we were too hungry and needed to have a meeting, and they seem to roll up the carpets on Sunday, at least Sundays when it's not racing season. On the other hand, this kept Joe and me from disappearing forever into a used bookshop last night -- it was one of those that went winding off into all sorts of corners and alcoves, continuing just when you thought you'd reached the end. It's just been pointed out to me that in the restaurant listing, which includes all sorts of fine dining, they also list McDonald's. Their one and *only* McDonald's, "only a mile and a half out of town." I can deal with this. So, a meeting with the bid chair last night, with the sales rep for the conference center this morning, afternoon reviewing the hotel contract for a meeting with the hotel CSM tomorrow morning, then a meeting with the sales rep for the overflow hotel. On the other hand there is, as mentioned, a deck off the living room. > >> Have no idea where our Treasurer scampered off to. > > > >I hope he's ok. Those do sometimes seem to involve time-travel, though. Elspeth
