You've been top-posting since 1970?   You're unique in having had access to
email that far back.

But actually (seriously, folks) this is an instance in which business
practices clash with netiquette and one has to learn to keep each in its
proper place.

If a fan handed you a paper file of correspondence between her and someone
else, the oldest letter would probably be on top, the newest on the bottom.
But in business correspondence or legal files, the newest letter is always
on top, and clipped to it will be successively earlier letters.

So we segregate our practices to the appropriate venue.
