They just had nothing else to do with their time prior to e-mail, the web,
cable/satellite TV, DVDs/VCRs, cell phones and cheap long distance rates.
Once they got done with their chores, like making candles and tanning hides
and checking the trap lines, it was either type and mimeo or watch the
grass grow...
