THE 21ST CENTURY
May 3, 2005 - 2:00PM to 5:00PM The symposium will celebrate the one
hundredth anniversary of the year in which Einstein published a series of
papers that shook the foundations of modern science. The five speakers in
this session will address these topics in part, but will focus primarily on
the fact that Einstein's ideas still pervade the most advances areas of
research in modern physics. The five speakers are: Clifford M. Will,
Washington University, St. Louis; Carl Wiemann, Nobel Laureate, JILA Fellow
and University of Colorado, Boulder; John Preskill, California Institute of
Technology; Andrea J. Liu, University of Pennsylvania; Davis Gross, Nobel
Laureate, Kavli Institute, Santa Barbara. Location: National Academy of
Sciences Auditorium 2100 C Street, NW, Washington, DC Open to public. No
registration required.
