Mike Nelson is busily at work on a 2 page Capclave flyer for the 3rd
Friday mailing party, which I should be attending assuming British Air
gets me into BWI at the promised time of 4pm.

While in NYC earlier this week, I visited Patrick Nielsen Hayden in his
Tor office, which is located in the way cool Flatiron Building. Posted
on the door to his office is the Capclave flyer. He also gave me a pile
of books for display at Balticon. Here are books that he and Teresa
have acquired/edited. The books are:

PNH books:
GUNPOWDER EMPIRE by Harry Turtledove
LIGHT OF OTHER DAYS by Clarke & Baxter
NEWTON'S WAKE by Ken MacLeod
MARS CROSSING by Geoffrey Landis
DOWN AND OUT IN THE MAGIC KINGDOM by Cory Doctorow
KING'S PEACE by Jo Walton (who he discovered on rasff and encouraged to
write a novel)

TNH books:
BOOK OF BALLADS editied by Charles Vess
THE BURIED PYRAMID by Jane Lindskold
BLIND LAKE by Robert Charles Wilson

TNH & PNH:
DRAGON by Steven Brust

And these are anthologies that PNH has edited:
STARLIGHT, 3 volumes
YEAR'S BEST SF AND FANTASY FOR TEENS
NEW MAGICS: An Anthology of Today's Fantasy

In the above book, PNH &TNH write: "There's a rule for what makes good
fantasy work, and it's as strange as any riddle in a fairy tale: In
fantasy, you can do anything; and therefore, the one thing you must not
do is 'just anything.'"

I am much better since The Adventure of the Exploding Dental Abcess on
Thursday, but still feeling somewhat... well, like my brain has been
replaced with cotton candy or somesuch. & then off to the UK on
Saturday. 3rd Friday should be... "interesting"...

Remember, Capclave it's *your* convention.
