Steve Stiles passed along this snippit from his Balticon experiences:

"The two panels I was on were remarkably similar --both more
or less on the transition from paper fanzines to internet
variations. Among the fanzines I displayed were BLAT! and
ZIP. Nobody monopolized the panels and dialogue was lively.
On the second panel, however, there was someone named Ernest
Tilley who --in the course of me talking about
e-groups--twice felt impelled to say something to the affect
that 'your pal, Ted White' had a tendency to be a flamer, or
unduly acerbic, in these discussion groups.

"I assured Tilley that, yes indeed, Ted was my pal and had,
in fact, lifted me out of the gutter and made me the man I
was today. Then I laughed maniacally: 'Bwa-ha-ha-ha!'

"The second time Tilley came out with that bit, I opined that
the pathetic wretches who felt 'flamed' by Ted were no doubt
fools and scoundrels who deserved everything they got, and
that Ted White in person was *really* like a sweet little
bunny rabbit. But Tilley was unconvinced, I'm sorry to say."

What have you to say for yourself, Ernest?
