You're a pussy cat, Ted. And between starting to read this thread and
beginning to respond teeth closed around one of my toes when a pointed,
articulate oration didn't get results. No blood drawn, she never does, and
it did get me to pay attention to what she was talking about. But I like
cats, have a lot of respect for them, and am usually comfortable with that
sort of exchange.

"Unduly acerbic"? Sometimes, especially when you're caught up in making a
point and forget to consider the audience that you're writing for. The
careful analysis of a WSFA publication last year comes to mind; the
analysis was great and the writing of it a complement as it showed how much
attention you'd paid, the tone was for someone who'd been involved in
publishing, fannish or otherwise for a long time rather than for people who
weren't or for whom it was a very early effort.

Do you know where I could read the rest of Steve's Balticon report? I
finally connected some folks I'd been seeing around for a long time with
the names 'Steve and Elaine Styles' and sort of went all fan-girl on him.
