Asheville is a lovely place and by DC-standards inexpensive to boot.
There are active gaming and Star Trek fandom circles about, but while
there are fans here, organizing fandom, I'm told, faded out a few
years ago.

Still, for a combination of arts and culture and rural to small city
living, it's hard to beat. I certainly wasn't able to find any better
when my wife and I decided we had enough of the NE corridor and we
certainly spent a lot of time looking!
