My workplace -- Old Town News -- was in the block just west of Washington
St (G.W. Parkway outside Alexandria). I just checked MapQuest. From OTN
to the Metro station: .62 miles. From OTN to Olsson's: .39 miles.
Directly from the Metro to Olsson's: .99 miles -- or about exactly one
mile. (For "Metro station": King St. & Diagonal Rd. For "Olsson's": King
St. & Union St.)

Dunno what maps you're using, but, as I said, I've walked it a number of
times and my estimation matches MapQuest's. Maybe you should check it out
and walk it yourself.
