Of course, enlightened computer users knew that when you bought an IBM PC,
the thing to do was discard the trashy PC-DOS operating system that came
free with the machine and spend another $50 or whatever to get CPM-386, the
far more sophisticated CPM derivative.  The marketplace never really bought
into this notion, and CPM is rather hard to find now.
