There are recipes that use fresh fruit and recipes
that use dried fruit. I have made cupcake that used
fresh strawberries and it was wonderful. I think it
was from allrecipes.com, if anyone is interested.

If you use half whole wheat flour and half white flour
in a bread recipe you might be able to use fresh fruit
as whole wheat flour is "drier" than all white flour.
And the bread has more whole grain and a nutty flavor
without nuts.
