The ALA maintains a list of books that have been censored or subject to censorship attempts, mainly by groups trying to get books they deem unsuitable for children out of school libraries and English classes, but sometimes off the public shelves of regular libraries as well.

And yes, in Harry Potter's case, that is mainly fundamentalists who seem to think it a manual for the religion of witchcraft (as if children's libraries did not have hundreds of other books about magic and witches from the Wizard of Oz on.  But they get more publicity for going after the biggest target so...)
