Not an error on your part but a correction to Barry's statement at the
meeting that Interaction, the 2005 Worldcon, had a total attending of under
500.

Not speaking for the convention, but Interaction has about 4,000
members. That's total, not just attending, but there are about 2,000
sleeping rooms in use on the peak nights. Since a lot of fans double up
I'd use this to ballpark the number of attendings to at least
3,000. You're free to add that as an editorial remark to the minutes if
you'd like.

Also feel free to include my letter in the Journal as the Hotel Liaison/06
Chair's report. The one correction is that Judy has managed to get the
measurements that she needs.

I'm curious about "We were contacted on July 4th via the rec.arts.sf.fandom
newsgroup by the Gaylord people about their upcoming 300,000 square foot
Washington Harbor resort convention center in P.G. County south of the
Wilson Bridge. Bob said they will probably have sufficient function space,
but probably not enough hotel capacity. The planned on-site hotel will only
have about a thousand rooms, and an east coast Worldcon needs at least
twice that. [Their website says 1500 rooms.] It is nowhere near any Metro
station or any existing hotels or motels, but parking would be "copious and
free". Ground has not yet been broken. We will keep their site in mind."

Who are the Gaylord people? From the rest of that sentence it sounds as if
they're a development company but I can't see a company like that
contacting someone via RASFF. Or is this in reference to the person who'd
talked with Sam and wanted to get in touch with the bid chair? Does he
work for Gaylord?
