To get political support from the uneducated superstitious people who do
think it's true?

"Intelligent Design" is the code used by the folks who want to teach the
Bible in the public schools to refer to teaching Biblical creation myths as
fact, since they already know that if they said, "Teaching Biblical myths
as fact" that the Supreme Court would rule against them (they've already
tried that I think).

I wonder how they'd respond to teaching science in church?
