Then Richard Lynch brought some leftover newsletters to last night's meeting, and I took one of each of them home. (Not a complete set.) I notice several differences, despite the claims that PDFs perfectly capture the appearance of a document. * Some of the fonts are different. On the original, the H in the title has three bars; in the PDFs, one. The A and U in the title run together in the PDFs, but not in the originals. * The print is smaller in the PDFs. As a result, it fits just fine on American-sized paper. * The photos are *better* in the PDFs. * The original are in various colors; the PDFs all have a white background. * The photo on the back of issue 2 is cropped quite differently in the two versions. Oddly, all other photos seem to be cropped identically. Thanks to Elspeth and Rich. (And to Mike Nelson for helping to produce them in the first place.)
