One thing: waterproof paint on the bottom cement blocks, if you're going to have this sitting on any floor close to the ground. The damn things are porous enough to wick dampness up from below, whence it seeps into the boards your books are sitting on. Oh, and it might not be a good idea to use pine or spruce; the resin could make the bottoms of the books adhere to the shelves. Fun. -- Dick Eney
