One comment about 8' tall bookcases:  if you have 8' ceilings, they may
fit, but you can't tip them into position after they are built...do that
math if you don't believe me.  There are fixes, such as knocking the back
top corners off, or building them in place, or cutting holes in the
ceiling, but making them slightly shorter is often easier and you can still
put stuff on top of them.
