Since, to the best of my knowledge, no one has volunteered yet would it
make sense to send a simple message to the announce only list, just saying
that you're resigning for WSFA and asking that someone else take over?

Many thanks for doing this, and I hope that you'll continue.  Thank you
also for your very professional manner in handing off the job: most fans
wouldn't make the efforts towards a seamless transition and all the rest of
the things that you're doing.

You should have.  I'll also volunteer to buy extra blank tapes and arrange
to have copies made if you'd like.
