There was no motion to change the VA meeting place.
I raised the issue as New Business due to several members having stated
that they would no longer attend meetings at the Gillilands. Given the
identities of some, it could have an impact on the meeting if that occurs.
I stated that I, personally, had no problem with attending meetings there,
and that as far as I was aware the Gillilands had not withdrawn the offer
to hold meetings there, but that if several other members did have problems
with that location then it was something that needed to be discussed at the
Third Friday meeting, as the bylaws reportedly require that the location
and time of the next meeting be set by the president at the prior meeting.
There was some discussion, and the end result was that the next meeting was
announced as being at the usual First Friday location. The minutes will
contain all this, I'm sure, in more detail than I've given here, but that's
the general outline as I remember it.
Given recent events, I can understand why Keith offered anonymity to anyone
who wants it. I'm not sure if it's strictly kosher to do that, but it was
a kind offer. I don't plan to take him up on it myself though. Under the
circumstances I don't think that raising the issue for discussion was at
all out of line. If anyone disagrees with this, I'm happy to discuss the
matter with them.

"In the representative system, the reason for everything must publicly
appear. Every man is a proprietor in government, and considers it a
necessary part of his business to understand. It concerns his interest
because it affects his property. He examines the cost, and compares it
with the advantages; and above all, he does not adopt the slavish custom of
following what in other governments are called 'leaders'."
