If he can't, you might accomplish the same thing by having your mailer just
auto-delete everything from this list until you decide it's time to read it
again.

In Eudora you could just set up a filter to send all of it to the trash
folder and tell it to delete the trash on exit, or purge it yourself
whenever you like.  Other mail programs probably have something similar.
When you want back in, just delete the filter or redirect it to your
WSFA-list folder again.  You can always go back in the archives and find
any particular message that you later decide you want to see (like the one
that's coming soon (I'm sure) on how to turn scrap soda cans and empty beer
bottles into fine silk cloth ;-).
