The Dr. Who show had a segment about how to build your own Dalek back when
the original show first aired in the early 60s (I was seeing it on BBC in
Scotland...don't know if it ever aired here).  When I was 8 I built a
sort-of Dalek out of cardboard boxes with a plumber's helper for the
"probe".  It didn't look much like a Dalek, but when you are 8 it's the
thought and imagination that count most anyway...and the fun of putting it
together.
