Lynch" <kfl at KeithLynch.net> To: WSFA members <WSFAlist at KeithLynch.net> Subject: [WSFA] Not the regular monthly announcement Reply-To: WSFA members <WSFAlist at KeithLynch.net> I should have made the regular monthly announcement yesterday, when this list was 46 months old. But I was at Philcon, or on my way home from it, all day. Nobody new has subscribed since last month, so everyone here has already seen the regularly monthly message, which will return next month. So I'll just remind everyone that HTML messages and messages with attachments cannot be posted to the list, for several reasons, including the fact that they can convey viruses and web bugs, which can reveal your private information to others. If your mailer defaults to sending HTML, please see http://www.expita.com/nomime.html for instructions on how to turn it off. I suggest you turn it off for everyone, since more and more people are deleting all such email unread. (The August 2003 Consumer Reports magazine is one of many sources that recommends deleting HTML email unread to cut down on spam.) I mention this because the last two messages directed at this list (sent by two different people, both of whom should know better) were both blocked due to HTML. One also had an enormous attachment. Neither sender cleaned up and re-sent their message.
