I hear that in movie circles that's called "high concept"...as in "just
give me the high concept".  I think a lot of big budget movies start out
with nothing else...and some finish that way too:

Towering Inferno meets Earthquake ==> Volcano

Juggernaut on a bus ==> Speed

Shoot out at the OK Coral, in space ==> Outlands
