Then you'd never want to read any in the original series. Tom Swift was produced by the Edward Stratemeyer syndicate, but many of the original books were actually written by Howard R. Garris, the author of the "Uncle Wiggley" books. Uncle Wiggley was always going "Bless my whiskers," and a character in Tom Swift had a similar saying. $12 is a lot for a book which originally sold for less than a dollar and was published in mass quantities. If you want more of them, Keith, I have several I'd be happy to sell you for that price. --Ted White
