For those just tuning in, that's in the December 1991 WSFA Journal,
edited by Lee Strong, placed online by me three years ago. As
of early last December, when I stepped down as webmaster, it had
gotten 658 hits.
This thread started with Michael Walsh's observation that Star Trek
debuted on NBC on September 8, 1966. People on this list didn't see
that message or Lee Strong's reply, since both were sent to "WSFAlis"
rather than "WSFAlist".
I'm not sure why he mentioned that now rather than waiting until
September.
That's one of several hundred events I had on my historical SF
calendar for mention at the appropriate time. In last September's,
WSFA Journal, as you may recall, I mentioned the 40th anniversary
of the debut of that unforgettable television epic, Lost in Space.
