I tripped across another potential problem with WSFA on Yahoo that hadn't
occurred to me before. It was in relation to another organization that I
belong to that uses Yahoo Groups for a mailing list site, and was having
similar problems with some people being excluded for various reasons. One
member pointed out that Yahoo Groups has a restriction for "Corporate use"
in its Terms Of Service...i.e. "Corporate use" is prohibited. Now this
would clearly bar, say, Ford Motor Company from setting up a Yahoo Group
for its owm purposes, but there apparently wasn't an exception made for
non-profit corporations...such as WSFA. It says "Corporate", not
"commercial" according to what I heard in that other group. We may well be
in violation of Yahoo Groups TOS by having the WSFA Forum on there. I
don't know if Yahoo would care, even if they noticed, but it is something
to be aware of if it's true. I haven't had time since I was made aware of
this aspect to go look at the TOS in detail to verify the claims I saw.
